A trustworthy CBD label tells you four things: total CBD in milligrams, CBD per serving, THC content, and — most important — a QR code or batch number linking to an independent lab report. If any of those are missing, walk away.
Studies analyzing store-bought CBD have repeatedly found products containing far less CBD than advertised — and sometimes THC that wasn't supposed to be there. The label is your defense. Here's how to read one like a chemist.
1. Total CBD, in milligrams
Look for a hard number: "1000mg CBD," not vague phrases like "hemp-infused" or "made with hemp extract." Hemp seed oil contains no CBD at all — a common trick on low-quality products.
2. CBD per serving
For gummies, the math should be printed for you. On a K61 Resilience Rounds jar: 25mg per round × 30 rounds = 750mg total. If the per-serving and total numbers don't multiply out, that's a red flag.
3. THC content
Legal hemp products must contain under 0.3% THC. The words to look for: "isolate" (pure CBD only — zero THC), "broad spectrum" (multiple hemp compounds with THC reduced to trace levels below 0.3%), and "full spectrum" (trace THC intentionally kept in). Our gummy lab results have consistently shown non-detectable (ND) THC, but we still label them "may contain <0.3% delta-9 THC" out of caution — that's what honest labeling looks like. 4. The lab report — the part that actually matters
Any brand can print numbers. Independent, third-party laboratory testing is what proves them. On every K61 jar you'll find a QR code — scan it and you'll see the Certificate of Analysis for your exact batch, showing verified CBD content and the THC result. A trustworthy report includes:
- The lab's name (independent, not the brand itself)
- A batch number matching your jar
- Cannabinoid potency results (the actual CBD milligrams)
- THC result
Red flags that end the conversation
- No lab report, an expired report, or a report with no batch number
- Medical promises ("cures arthritis," "treats insomnia") — legitimate brands legally cannot and will not say this
- "Hemp oil" products with no milligram count
- Prices too good to be true — real CBD in real amounts costs real money
