Clear the Road: Your K-61 Guide

The world of hemp can feel like a maze of technical jargon and "hype." We want to cut through that noise. Below are the questions we hear most often from our neighbors in Kansas—answered with the honesty and clarity you’d expect from a friend on the highway.

The Science of the Revolution

What is CBD, really?

CBD (cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring compound found in the hemp plant. Think of it as a wellness tool. It is non-intoxicating—it won't get you "high"—and is one of over 100 cannabinoids that work with your body’s internal chemistry to support overall balance.

Will it get me high?

No. CBD is non-psychoactive. The "high" associated with marijuana comes from THC. Our products are derived from high-quality hemp and contain 0.3% THC or less—not enough to produce any intoxicating effect. We're here to help you feel better, not "different."

Hemp vs. Marijuana: What’s the difference?

They share a family tree (Cannabis sativa), but they serve different purposes. Hemp is the "worker" of the family—it is federally legal, lower in THC, and used for everything from textiles to our premium wellness products. Marijuana is the "high-potency" variety. K-61 is 100% committed to federally compliant, high-quality hemp.

What is the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)?

Think of the ECS as your body’s internal compass. It’s a biological system of receptors and enzymes that helps regulate your mood, sleep, appetite, pain response, and immune function. CBD interacts with this system, helping to "re-calibrate" things when your internal balance feels off.

Full-Spectrum, Broad-Spectrum, or Isolate?

  • Full-Spectrum: Contains all plant compounds, including trace THC (≤0.3%). This provides the "Entourage Effect"—where the ingredients work better together.
  • Broad-Spectrum: All the plant's "good stuff" with the THC completely removed.
  • Isolate: Pure, singular CBD. No other plant compounds.

Kansas Roots & Safety

Is CBD legal in Kansas?

Yes. Hemp-derived CBD products with less than 0.3% THC are legal in our home state. In fact, K-61’s founder, Joel Sandoval, was part of the team that helped shape the regulations for the Kansas Industrial Hemp Act in 2018. We don't just follow the rules; we helped build the road.

Will it show up on a drug test?

This is a common concern for our high-agency athletes. Most standard tests screen for THC, not CBD. However, Full-Spectrum products contain trace amounts of THC that could potentially trigger a result with frequent use. If you are subject to testing, we recommend choosing Broad-Spectrum or Isolate products. We cannot guarantee a "negative" result, so always consult your testing provider.

Is it safe for me?

CBD is generally well-tolerated, and the World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes it has no potential for abuse. However, because everyone’s "human hardware" is different, CBD can interact with certain medications. Always have a conversation with your healthcare provider before adding a new supplement to your routine.

Can I give CBD to my pet?

We want what’s best for your companions, but we recommend staying on the human side of the fence for now. Our products contain ingredients specifically formulated for human biology. Always consult your veterinarian before introducing any new supplements to your pets.

Finding Your Stride (Dosing & Usage)

How much should I take?

There is no "one size fits all" on Highway 61. Your dose depends on your weight, metabolism, and your specific goals (e.g., recovery vs. daily balance). We recommend the "Start Low, Go Slow" approach: Begin with a small serving (10–25mg) and gradually increase until you find your personal "sweet spot."

How long until I feel the effects?

Timing is all about the delivery method:

  • Resilience Rounds (Gummies): 30–90 minutes (metabolized by your system).
  • Recovery Standard (Topicals): 15–45 minutes (localized to the area of application).

The K-61 Standard

Where is your hemp grown?

We believe in the power of the American farmer. All our hemp is sourced from U.S.-grown, federally compliant farms. We prioritize traceability because we want you to know exactly where your wellness begins.

Are your products lab tested?

Absolutely. Every single product we carry is tested by an independent, accredited third-party laboratory. Transparency is our "Gold Standard." You can request a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for any product—just reach out and we'll send it over.
